DAVAO CITY โ Twelve couples officially began a new chapter in their lives after exchanging vows during the Kasalan ng Barangay held in Panacan on Monday, September 28, with Vice Mayor Rodrigo โRigoโ Duterte II, serving as Acting Mayor, officiating the ceremony.
The mass wedding provided couples who had been living together but had yet to formalize their unions an opportunity to make their commitment official in the presence of their families, friends, and fellow community members.
Welcoming the Acting Mayor to the barangay, Punong Barangay Ericson Batican expressed appreciation for the initiative, which gave Panacan residents an opportunity to finally take an important step toward formalizing their relationships.
In his message to the newlyweds, Acting Mayor Rigo reminded them that a strong marriage is built not only on love, but also on patience, understanding, communication, and shared responsibility.
He encouraged the couples to learn to understand and support one another, particularly during difficult times, and cautioned them against allowing financial concerns to create unnecessary conflict in their marriage.
โMagpasensyahay ug magtinabangay. Ayaw ninyo awayi ang usag usa tungod sa kwarta,โ the Acting Mayor said, emphasizing the importance of working together as partners and facing life's challenges as a team.
The ceremony was more than just an exchange of vows. For the 12 couples, it marked a meaningful milestoneโthe formal beginning of a shared journey recognized not only by their loved ones but also by the community they call home.
