DAVAO CITY – At least four families in San Isidro in Barangay 76-A Bucana are slowly recovering after a fire ravaged their homes on July 5, Saturday evening.
The affected families received relief goods and cash assistance from the office of Davao City First District Rep. Paolo Duterte and his son, Acting Vice Mayor Rodrigo Duterte II. Rep. Duterte's office said the support aimed to help the fire victims begin rebuilding their lives after losing their homes and belongings.
According to the Filipino Chinese firefighters of Davao Inc., the fire broke out around 11:54 p.m. on Katunggan Street, originating from one of the residential houses. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
One resident, who refused to be named, claimed that some neighbors had requested the relocation of a couple allegedly involved in a domestic dispute believed to have sparked the fire.
Authorities have not confirmed the couple's conflict as the official cause, but investigations are ongoing. Local officials have assured continued support for the displaced families as they transition to recovery.
