PICPA Davao Celebrates Accountancy Week with Courtesy Visit to Acting Mayor Rigo Duterte

DAVAO CITY — In celebration of Accountancy Week, officers and members of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Davao Chapter paid a courtesy visit to Acting Mayor Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II, highlighting the shared commitment of the accounting profession and the city government to transparency, accountability, and good governance.


Acting Mayor Duterte warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed his appreciation for the important role certified public accountants play not only in business and government, but also in helping build institutions founded on trust, integrity, and responsible stewardship of resources.


Tuesday’s visit also provided an opportunity for the city government and PICPA Davao to strengthen ties and recognize the contribution of accounting professionals to Davao City’s continued growth and development.


Leading the PICPA Davao delegation was Chapter President Sydel G. Ledesma, together with President-elect Dec Jhon Mendoza, Secretary Mark Glenn Parpan, Treasurer Jade Solana, Vice President for Professional Development Atty. Jessieh Rey Curammeng, and Vice President for Membership Bernard Jason D. Malubay.


Also joining the visit were Atty. Ralph R. Enzo Naquila; Director for Education Devzon Porras; Director for Commerce and Industry Eric Van Romerde; Director for Government Atty. Thessaloe Fernandez; Director for Public Practice Mary Grace Punay; Immediate Past President Cedric Ian Carlo E. Petalcorin; Past President Nikko L. Caminade; and Accountancy Week Chair Paul Warren Sanico.


More than a formal courtesy call, the meeting underscored the value of collaboration between the local government and professional organizations whose members help keep both public institutions and private enterprises accountable, efficient, and financially sound.


Acting Mayor Duterte thanked PICPA Davao for its continued commitment to professional excellence and community service and wished its officers and members a meaningful and successful celebration of Accountancy Week.

The visit reflected a shared goal between the City Government of Davao and PICPA Davao: to continue building a city where professionalism, integrity, and public service go hand in hand.
